Question: What does a black nail polish on the left index finger or right index finger means?

I know this girl from school she is hot, great body for a big girl. she told me she's a lesbian and i don't believe her, i think that she said to drive me away or it may true. and she show up next day with her left or right index finger painted black, i ask her what does it means? she gave me a vague response. i told a friend of mine about it and he said it symbolizes that she is taken, but i just want to know what it really means, that is why i wanted to ask you. please give an answer

I was under the impression it was a rebelistic thing to do. Like walking around sticking your middle finger up at people, without having to do it. It is a way of showing no respect to people! It is a statement!
